The Randhawa story
World Premiere at Flatpack Film Festival 2024
Short documentary following the Randhawa family and their journey of running The Waldorf cinema under the stewardship of Avtar Singh Randhawa in the 1970s. Around this time Balsall Heath and Sparkbrook were a destination for South Asian film audiences from across the Midlands. Also featuring Amarjit Sidhu and the Imperial Cinema, Birmingham.
The Waldorf cinema, now a Hindu temple is turned back into a cinema once again to share a dynamic story of entrepreneurship, Indian celebrities and the heist of Bollywood movie prints.
